Change the World of One's Scholarship Program that helps fund educational opportunities for students in developing countries

We at Change the World of One believe in the power of changing the world one person at a time. One of the most dynamic ways to do this is to help students gain access to schooling. Education changes a person’s whole world.

What is the "I Am the Future" Scholarship Program designed to do?

At Change the World of One, we believe that education plays a vital role in opening opportunities and making a lasting change in the lives and communities of people around the world.  Our Scholarship program is designed to assist students in developing countries who have been identified as having a unique or troubling situation that affects their ability to afford and attend school.

Who qualifies for the scholarship?

On a case-by-case basis, when funding is available, we are qualifying students in developing countries who are considered “at-risk” youth such as:

  • Orphans being raised by extended family or others and are in a low-income support situation
  • Victims of sexual assault
  • Members of a family that has experienced a financial tragedy (such as crop failure) that has made them unable to afford their family expenses

Scholarships cover school fees, books, school uniforms, and other school supplies for these students. Our on-the-ground officers personally visit the families or caretakers of each student and go to the school with them to ensure they have everything they need for the school year. Throughout the year they check up on these students to see how they are doing and if they require further assistance.M

The Power of Education

We are dedicated to changing the world person by person by focusing on educational initiatives, literacy and educational scholarships because we hold a profound belief in the power of education to change lives and change the world.

Why? This is because education: 

  • Is Empowering.

    It opens doors to opportunities and allows one to be self-directing and independent instead of reliant on others. This way the student can choose his or her own path in life and will have knowledge, skills, confidence and wisdom to pursue and achieve it. Education presents a fair chance to obtain gainful employment, to escape poverty, to support a family and to develop one’s community.

  • Engenders Equality.

    To achieve a world in which everyone has access to equal opportunities, education is the key. It is required if we are to expunge the existing differences between social classes and genders.

  • Makes the World Safer and More Peaceful.

    Poverty often elicits desperate measures, which can be obviated through education which improves one’s station in life.

  • Supports Communities.

    A solid education allows people to be active, useful and contributing members of their society. It enables them to solve problems, address issues, and make the community stronger for future generations.

  • Influences Economic Progress.

    Countries with high literacy rates are extremely prosperous and their citizens have a high per capita income whereas those in underdeveloped and developing nations have low literacy rates and disproportionately high rates of people living below the poverty line. A nation’s economic prosperity is dependent upon its citizens’ education. Education lays the foundation for the strength of a nation.
